This One Is On Us presents: Another Version of the Truth: Las Vegas

Las Vegas is the final part of the Another Version of the Truth collection, and is exclusively community-created.

Filmed entirely by fans and co-ordinated by Alex Gamble, this release saw the community fly in from around the world, donate technology, skill, and even airfare (fans raised money to send chaonatic, a valued taper, to the concert) to document the final performance of Nine Inch Nails' stunning 2008 tour. Over 200GB of footage was collected, which was meticulously edited together by a team comprising of people from all over the world.

Major distribution update (I couldn't wait)

I was going to wait until the weekend to get onto this, but well, you know, I guess I'm just "on one" today, heh...

A lot's been happening, and I thought it was about time for a brain dump.

PayPal woes - details at the weekend...

Short version - PayPal is imposing an impossible restriction on our activities. To resolve this, I want to refund as many PayPal transactions as possible.

Long version - coming at weekend. Click through for more info...

Expanded initial distribution run (AKA ordering reopened)

I spent 4 hours last night analyzing orders, calculating shipping costs and running through a shit load of possible scenarios. To make a long story short, we currently have 1288 BD/DVD orders and 750 DVD orders. Having done the calculations, I'm going to extend this to 2,000 BD/DVD sets and 2,000 DVD sets. I'll be checking on order counts daily, and when the BD/DVD sets run out (as I'm sure they will), I'll remove them from the order page, and will do a final cut off when the DVD sets sell out. Once we have completed this run we can examine whether or not to focus on getting a small, simple run of just BD discs organized for those that missed out and had to order the DVD set. I've also been examining some other fulfillment options that we can use after this first run, so it won't be the end of things even if you do miss out on this run!

Ordering BD/DVD sets is now up and running (for real!)

You can now order BD/DVD sets through our new PayPal account. Before you order, we strongly recommend that you read this. It should answer most of your questions, and will save you from looking like an idiot by asking a question we have already answered.

Everything is lined up to get these mailed in the week beginning March 15th March 22nd (taking into account delays in Gift BluRay and Vegas DVD). I will be signing off on the print order Tuesday 2nd March. Pictures will follow as things start to arrive.

We did have PayPal issues - these have been resolved. Click through to read what happened and how we fixed it.

Showcase: A Year Zero highlights DVD

Sometimes souvenir DVDs don't need frills and sparkles. Sometimes letting the groundbreaking experiene speak for itself is enough to create an impressive video collection. EchoingtheSound member Trepkos_ has created a cohesive document of Year Zero (or "the one with the ARG and all the USBs)'s promotional material, and explains below why this piece of NIN history should not be forgotten:

Bowery Ballroom DVD call for submissions

Now that we're pretty much done with TDS:Live and AVOTT, we're all looking to work some more. As you know Alex Gamble is rebooting the Terminal 5 DVD and I'm getting started on a Bowery Ballroom one.

Terminal 5 DVD in the Works

Originally, with the hype of the final shows, one of the TOIOU members proposed to collect and edit together a DVD of the Terminal 5 show on August 26th. Somewhere along the way, the footage that was mounted on an FTP for our access was taken down due to violations of FTP abuse, and things got complicated/life intervened. After clearing some things up, Dave is now handing over that footage to me for a brand new start on making this DVD possible.

Showcase: notincnstopmenow

As we have mentioned before, the Nine Inch Nails fan community has a long tradition of creating recorded audio and video content for its peers. Recently, one of the most prominent creators of live audio compilations has been Mike Ris, or "notincnstopmenow". He recently took the time to explain his backcatalogue, and why he creates these mixes.

This One is on Us and Reflecting in the Chrome present: Lights in the Sky - rehearsals DVD

Following on from the exclusive footage found on Another Version of the Truth: Bonus comes 30 minutes of never before seen footage from the Lights in the Sky rehearsals show at the LA Forum.

On July 19th 2008, Nine Inch Nails kicked off their Lights In The Sky with a very intimate performance in front of a small crowd of less than 300 lucky fans.

Security was very tight, as Trent didn't want to spoil the surprise of the great visuals effects, which he knew would be all over YouTube minutes after the first official show. We managed to uncover extremely rare, partial HD footage of this show. We used some of it as backup footage on Vegas, and now we're making it all available to you guys.

- Ash512, Editor

Put together by Ash512 and distributed by our friends at Reflecting in the Chrome (head over for a full summary of the DVD) this is the first longform high quality representation of the show in the public domain.
