Showcase: A Year Zero highlights DVD

Sometimes souvenir DVDs don't need frills and sparkles. Sometimes letting the groundbreaking experiene speak for itself is enough to create an impressive video collection. EchoingtheSound member Trepkos_ has created a cohesive document of Year Zero (or "the one with the ARG and all the USBs)'s promotional material, and explains below why this piece of NIN history should not be forgotten:

Bowery Ballroom DVD call for submissions

Now that we're pretty much done with TDS:Live and AVOTT, we're all looking to work some more. As you know Alex Gamble is rebooting the Terminal 5 DVD and I'm getting started on a Bowery Ballroom one.

Terminal 5 DVD in the Works

Originally, with the hype of the final shows, one of the TOIOU members proposed to collect and edit together a DVD of the Terminal 5 show on August 26th. Somewhere along the way, the footage that was mounted on an FTP for our access was taken down due to violations of FTP abuse, and things got complicated/life intervened. After clearing some things up, Dave is now handing over that footage to me for a brand new start on making this DVD possible.

Showcase: notincnstopmenow

As we have mentioned before, the Nine Inch Nails fan community has a long tradition of creating recorded audio and video content for its peers. Recently, one of the most prominent creators of live audio compilations has been Mike Ris, or "notincnstopmenow". He recently took the time to explain his backcatalogue, and why he creates these mixes.

This One is on Us and Reflecting in the Chrome present: Lights in the Sky - rehearsals DVD

Following on from the exclusive footage found on Another Version of the Truth: Bonus comes 30 minutes of never before seen footage from the Lights in the Sky rehearsals show at the LA Forum.

On July 19th 2008, Nine Inch Nails kicked off their Lights In The Sky with a very intimate performance in front of a small crowd of less than 300 lucky fans.

Security was very tight, as Trent didn't want to spoil the surprise of the great visuals effects, which he knew would be all over YouTube minutes after the first official show. We managed to uncover extremely rare, partial HD footage of this show. We used some of it as backup footage on Vegas, and now we're making it all available to you guys.

- Ash512, Editor

Put together by Ash512 and distributed by our friends at Reflecting in the Chrome (head over for a full summary of the DVD) this is the first longform high quality representation of the show in the public domain.

BD/DVD Physical Distribution - time to put up

Quotes are coming in for cases and inserts, people are asking about it, and a plan has come together.

Upshot of which is that we need YOU to step up now and show us how much YOU are prepared to help out. We need to get commitments to burn around 5,800 DVDs and 200 BluRay discs for this initial run.

Please head over to your profile (you must be logged in!) now to update your preferences under the BD/DVD Distribution Settings. To help encourage productivity, we will buy media for people prepared to really help out.

If you are requesting a set, we have also changed the options available, so please update your request if you want one.

We will send an email with full details of this process at some point over the weekend of 6th/7th February. If you have any unanswered questions regarding this process, please wait until receiving that email before asking .

Don't worry if we don't fulfill your order on this initial run. There will be a more organic fulfillment after this to help get copies to others.

This One Is On Us presents: Another Version of the Truth: Bonus Content

During the making of "Another Version of the Truth", several people from the wider community came forward with features that they wanted to contribute to the effort. Before long, there was enough content to warrant a separate disc, and AVOTT:BONUS was created.

100,000 visitors this year (so far)

I just did a refresh on our web stats and found that we have 100,001 unique visitors this year! So I thought I'd take a minute to let you know about the demographics.

Just who are these people? Well, they're obviously tech minded. According to Wikipedia, Internet Explorer has 59% of the browser market, with Firefox a distant second at 28%, and Safari at only 4.5%. According to our stats, 38.3% of you use Firefox, 18.6% of you use IE and 14.8% use Safari.

AVOTT:GIFT - LIVE on Pitchfork TV for one week only

The folks over at Pitchfork TV got in touch with us a couple of months ago about streaming Another Version of the Truth on their site. After checking the ins and outs of doing this with a couple of our peers, we quickly cobbled together all of the edits from Ghosts I-IV and The Slip for a special video that is now available to stream on their website...for one week only!

Google Earth AVOTT KML Up for Download

Thanks to Xvostya, we've got a really nifty KML file that you can download and view in Google Earth that will be updated regularly with new screening dates and information links as they are confirmed world wide. It may also be updated with other information, so I'd keep my eye on it. ;)
