PLEASE NOTE that although these releases are FREE and have the full support of NIN and their current management, that the rights to songs from Broken to Year Zero are owned by UMG (Interscope), and the rights of songs from Pretty Hate Machine are (I think) owned by Rykodisc Records. We DO NOT have permission from the rights holders to release this bootleg recording. If this was an official release, we would need to have that. We have had a note in our FAQ since project inception asking them to get in touch if they'd like to work with us, but they have so far declined to do so. Just thought we should clarify.

Another Version of the Truth

  • Las Vegas

    • Filmed entirely by fans and co-ordinated by Alex Gamble, this release saw the community fly in from around the world, donate technology, skill, and even airfare (fans raised money to send chaonatic, a valued taper, to the concert) to document the final performance of Nine Inch Nails' stunning 2008 tour. Over 200GB of footage was collected, which was meticulously edited together by a team comprising of people from all over the world.

    • Filmed in Sacramento, Portland, and Victoria by the Nine Inch Nails team, and directed, edited, and produced by their fans, The Gift is a stunning work in 1080 High Definition video with 5.1 Surround Sound, multi-language subtitles, and artistically-driven ethics.

    The torrent is available in either 320kb MP3 or FLAC.

    Before the editing began, audio wizards Aaron Short and Mark Noakes produced a double MP3 and FLAC set of the AVOTT shows. Much like the video releases, while the Gift is the more polished, professionally-recorded output, Vegas provided a more raw, passionate account of the tour. All MP3 tracks contained embedded images taken by the fan community and lent to the project

    'Las Vegas' - consists of a fully fan co-ordinated, recorded, and produced version of the final show in Las Vegas, mixed and mastered from a variety of hi-quality fan audio sources.

    'The Gift' - takes footage supplied by Nine Inch Nails from 3 different shows in the final part of the tour, edited and mixed together by us to get the best of each show.

In the midst of their final Wave Goodbye tour in August 2009, Trent Reznor and his band Nine Inch Nails surprised the fan community by performing their seminal 1994 album The Downward Spiral, in its entirety. After the band's plans to tape the show fell through, TOIOU, in collaboration with The NIN Hotline, created TDS: Live at Webster Hall.
