Hope all is well for you. We've been pleasantly surprised by the pretty-much continuous positive feedback we've received since the release of AVOTT. Even though my work on the project was officially completed over a year ago, it's fun to still hear more from you every now and then. To keep things interesting, I came up with an idea that might be cool.

The mailman picked up another 1,200 packages today (includes another 200 free sets).

Well, I was going to wait for the tracking number for the final shipment, but I guess I should just get this out there now so you can all stop bugging me :)

BD sets will start shipping next week. If you're concerned that your order is forgotten, go ahead and try and find your username here.

I should have all the discs soon - BDs arrive later today, and the remaining DVDs should be here on Monday.

EDIT: No More disks needed at the moment. We'll let you know if things change.

All the DVD and BD/DVD sets have been sold, but there's still a way you can get your hands on one of the remaining sets I have squirreled away.

We need a lot more burned discs to finish off the free set mailings. If you can help by burning some discs, that would be appreciated.

And, if you can help us out, I'll help you out and send you a DVD set (if you haven't ordered one already).

EDIT: SOLD OUT

I reopened PayPal ordering last night. "Invitations to order" are slowly being mailed to users who have not previous ordered a set (and have not received a free set). If you get an invitation and want to order, please don't delay - supplies are limited. Every day this week I'll invite another 500 people until either everyone's invited or all sets have sold.

Having said that though, once all the sets have sold and are mailed, I'm going to be organizing a batch of individual DVDs / BDs of The Gift to mail for about $3 (anywhere in the world, inc shipping). Once I have details of this, I'll let you know.

After countless rounds of corrections, tweaks and review, we've finally got the torrent for the BD of The Gift perfected and released. You can grab the torrent here.

It's just under 20Gb in size, allowing you to sit back and relive that feeling of anticipation you had when downloading the DVD - only more so.

Now that we're done with the content creation, let's get the word out to the non-NIN world. I've posted something on Digg (please Digg :) and I hope that the rest of you will go and do your bit now on other sites (Reddit, etc) to help spread the word on this epic release.

The image we sent to the pressing plant has been returned with errors (I would have been surprised if otherwise, but I hoped - the DVD9s took two or three iterations to get accepted).

This means that we still do not have a delivery date for the BD discs. It may even mean that we cannot get the BDs pressed. In that case, we need to look at burning BD-Rs, adding further delays (and issues for playing the discs in some players).

Some of you have (understandably) become increasingly impatient about this physical release. After thinking through the options (and examining finances), I've come up with a couple of options for those of you dying from frustration...

Note:

BD Set = 1 BD + 2 DVDs
DVD Set = 3 DVDs

If you ordered a DVD set by paypal, money order or via a country rep, your set will ship later today (except for those who sent money to Goldie - his payment should arrive this week and then I'll mail those orders). There are also about a dozen people who have problems in their addresses that I have to chase up but, apart from that, all DVD orders are shipping today - both domestic and foreign! If you want to check if your order was shipped, try finding your username and set count in the send log - note, some people who ordered twice appear twice. Please also note that if you hit CTRL+F you can search the page for your username and stop worrying about word blindness :)

That's 926 packages.

Also, now that Clive is back from his 3 week holiday (did those of you panicing about not receiving a set catch that part of his last site update?) DVD sets may be on their way again.

We are waiting for word from Greg the DVD author on Blu-ray progress. It's all in his hands and Clive is poised to burn as soon as he gets the green light.

Bad news - I'm off on vacation tomorrow for 3 weeks... ;-)
